Benjamin Fuchs (S’06–M’08–SM’16) received the M.S. and Electrical Engineering degrees from the National Institute of Applied Science of Rennes, Rennes, France, in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Rennes 1, Rennes, in 2007. He was a Visiting Scholar with the University of Colorado at Boulder, CO, USA, in 2007. In 2009, he joined the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications of Rennes as a Researcher at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). He spent three years with the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland, as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in 2008, and on leave from CNRS from 2011 to 2012. His current research interests revolve around electromagnetic signal processing for microwave synthesis and inverse problems. More specifically, he has been working on array synthesis, antenna diagnosis, phase retrieval and fast antenna characterization approaches using convex optimization and compressive sensing techniques.
